John Ewing has been denied relief at all stages of the state level.  In March of 2001 he filed his petition for writ of habeus corpus in federal district court (E. Detroit).  After viewing all of the evidence that was withheld in 1985, two former jurors provided affidavits stating: They "would not have convicted."

Cert was granted and Ewing’s case went before the 6^th Circuit CoA in the Summer of 2005.

He was denied relief.
